The Nigerian Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has officially partnered with the second edition of the Enugu Gaming Conference & Exhibitions, taking place on July 30 & 31 at the International Conference Centre in Enugu.
This strategic collaboration aims to empower gaming regulators, operators, payment gateways, and software providers regarding Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) compliance and the urgent need for cybersecurity within the digital gaming ecosystem.
Following Nigeria’s Supreme Court ruling decentralising regulation to the states, the risks and challenges associated with sensitive user data handling have multiplied.
This year’s conference theme, “From Unification to Diversification - Shaping Nigeria’s Gaming Future,” presents an ideal opportunity to examine how data protection and digital safety can be incorporated into this new regulatory structure.
The NDPC will lead a special session of the conference entitled: “Data Protection & Cybersecurity in a Decentralised Gaming Industry: Enforcing the NDP Act Across Nigeria.”
This key session will provide insights into data compliance for operators and offer guidance for state regulators under the NDPA, including risk management, breach reporting and data audits.
